The central government is providing an interest-free loan of Rs 10,000 to those who do business on the streets.
Loaning process and how to apply is given here breifly.
1. Background
- Street play an important role in providing the goods and services at reasonable rates at the door-step of the city dwellers. They are called as vendors, hawkers, thelewala, rehriwala, theliphadwala etc. in different areas/ contexts. The goods supplied by them include vegetables, fruits, ready-to-eat street food, tea, pakodas, breads, eggs, textile, apparel, footwear, artisan products, books/ stationary etc.
2. Brief about this project
The above said all street vendors are eligible to get loans.
The street vendors are eligible to get loan amount upto Rs.10000.
The vendors, availing loan under the scheme, are eligible to get an interest subsidy @ 7%. The interest subsidy amount will be credited into the borrower’s account quarterly.
